Tutoring Fees
Every tutor is an independent business person, so each sets their own hourly rate.
Tutors trained in an Orton-Gillingham-based system, like the Barton Rading & Spelling System, are rare. So their hourly rates can be quite high.
The hourly rate will be higher in metropolitan areas, and lower in more rural areas.
The hourly rate will be higher if the tutor is certified than if the tutor is not.
To find out the hourly rate in your area, call some tutors and ask. I recommend you ask all of the following questions.

Designed for parents, volunteers, and new tutors. Trusted by professionals, Learning Specialists, Educational Therapists, Speech-Language Therapists, and private-practice tutors.
⚠️ You don’t need to be a strong reader or speller. Many tutors are dyslexic and even improve their own spelling as they teach.
⚠️ You must hear sounds extremely well, because strong auditory skills are essential to catch and correct mistakes.
⚠️ Your student must pass the 10-minute Student Screening.
