The first 2 weeks of 3rd grade the lightbulb went off for me. My daughter was never going to magically “catch up” developmentally. After about 10,000 flash cards, she was still spelling “of ” as “uv” and becoming depressed.
Thanks to a great friend who immediately turned me on to Barton and an amazing Barton tutor, she is now a thriving and school-loving 6th grader.
Still reads slowly, but loves to read challenging books and has great comprehension.
There is hope, and I am so very grateful to Susan Barton.
